Headline: CBC’s Baseball Bash set to take place on July 2

Coastal Bend College (CBC), in partnership with Angel Care Ambulance and Kicker 106, invites community members from Beeville and the surrounding areas to attend CBC’s Baseball Bash on Saturday, July 2 at Joe Hunter Field, which is located at 3800 Charco Road.

CBC’s Baseball Bash will feature free activities and softball games for families to enjoy. A water slide and bounce house for children will be available from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on the soccer field adjacent to Joe Hunter Field.

An apple pie baking contest will also take place at CBC’s Baseball Bash. Interested contestants should visit the following link to obtain more information and register: http://bit.ly/CBCPieContest16.

Several softball games are scheduled to take place:

·      The first softball game will feature employees from CBC and Beeville Independent School District at 4 p.m.

·      A local celebrity softball game will take place at 5:30 p.m.

·      The last game of the day will take place at 7 p.m. This game will feature first responders and veterans from the community. Winners of the apple pie baking contest will be announced at this game.

Free music by DJ Chux Delux will begin at 8:30 p.m. on the CBC Soccer Field. CBC’s Baseball Bash will be capped off with a fireworks display courtesy of Angel Care Ambulance at about 9:30 p.m.

Event goers are encouraged to bring their own blankets, pop-up tents and lawn chairs for seating. Ice chests are permitted, but event goers should refrain from bringing alcohol onto college premises. A concession stand will be available throughout the event.

Attendees are welcome to park at Joe Hunter Field or the parking lot located next to the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gym).  Handicap pick-up and drop-off will be available at the front of the baseball stadium.
