Each year, Coastal Bend College (CBC) features the work of South Texas photographers in its annual wildlife calendar. Over 3,500 CBC Wildlife Calendars are distributed throughout South Texas, and requests for copies of the calendar are also submitted from all over the world.
Calendars are provided free of charge to the community as a way to showcase the Coastal Bend region’s native birds, flowers, insects, vegetation and wildlife.
Photographers who are interested in submitting their outstanding South Texas wildlife photographs have until July 21, 2016 at 6 p.m. A three-person panel of local wildlife experts will judge the entries to select the photographs to be included in the 2017 calendar, which will be ready for distribution in November 2016.
All photographers must submit their files via CD/DVD, USB flash drive, or via an online service such as Dropbox or Google Drive. All photos must be submitted along with the 2017 CBC Wildlife Calendar Photographer Submission Form available for download online at www.coastalbend.edu/wildlife or by requesting the form via email to mcruz@coastalbend.edu. Submissions will not be returned. Photos may not be emailed as attachments.
Photos may include flowers, insects, birds, reptiles and animals that are native to the area, as well as photos that highlight regional landscape, vegetation, and character.
All photographs should be bright, exceptionally sharp with a prominent subject in the photo, and taken with high-quality camera settings suitable for printing at an 8×10 inch size. Prints and slides are not acceptable submissions.
Photographers who are interested in submitting their work can contact Monica Cruz, Director of Marketing & Public Relations, at (361) 354-2258 or via email at mcruz@coastalbend.edu for more information.
