A ribbon cutting ceremony for CBC’s new Student Life and Veteran’s Center will take place on Wednesday, November 11 at 11:30 a.m. in the James R. Dougherty Student Center. Veterans from Beeville and the surrounding areas are invited to attend the ceremony. Free lunch will be provided to all veterans who are in attendance.

The Student Life and Veteran’s Center was established to better serve veterans and their dependents while they attend CBC. As a designated Military Friendly® School, CBC is committed to ensuring that veterans are provided with a smooth transition and support as they embark on their higher education journey.

The Student Life and Veteran’s Center will feature a common study area, computers and lounge. This quiet, relaxing space is available to all veterans and CBC students during the College’s regular hours of operation.

“We are excited and honored to give a dedicated space to veteran students who have served our country, and we hope this Student Life and Veteran’s Center will help give them a common place to gather and study during this new phase of their lives,” said Rosie Saenz, CBC veteran’s affairs specialist.

CBC hopes that all veterans as well as members of the community are able to attend the Student Life and Veteran’s Center ribbon cutting. For more information regarding the event or educational benefits for veterans, please contact CBC’s Veteran’s Affairs Specialist at (361) 354-2421 or via email at rsaenz@coastalbend.edu.
