CBC to host veterans registration event on July 20

Coastal Bend College (CBC) is hosting a “Bring a Veteran, Meet a Veteran” event on Wednesday, July 20 at the Beeville campus from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Veterans and their dependents are invited to attend this free event that will take place inside of the newly relocated Veterans Resource Center, which is located inside of the R. W. Dirks Student Services Building.

Representatives from CBC’s Office of Veterans Affairs, the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs Mobile Vet Centers (MVCs) and the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) will be available to meet with veterans. The MVCs provide counseling and information resources to veterans throughout the country.

The TVC will also be on hand to meet with veterans and their dependents. Representatives from TVC act as the state appointed advocate of Texas veterans as they attempt to seek out the benefits that they rightfully earned while serving in the military. The TVC’s programs include claims representation and counseling services, veterans employment services and the veterans education program.

One-on-one assistance with the CBC admissions application and financial aid application will also be available. Veterans should bring their high school/college transcripts, DD-214, 2015 W2’s and taxes.

As a Military Friendly School, CBC offers a myriad of services that help veterans and their dependents utilize education benefits. The College participates in various educational programs that are provided by the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs including:

CBC Kingsville is committed to ensuring that veterans and their eligible dependents gain access to a high-quality, affordable education. Representatives from the Office of Veterans Affairs will be available to speak with veterans and/or eligible dependents about the various academic and workforce programs that are available at the CBC Kingsville site. In addition, prospective students will receive one-on-one assistance with the CBC admissions application and financial aid application.

Coastal Bend College (CBC) is committed to ensuring that veterans and their eligible dependents gain access to a high-quality, affordable education. In order to better assist veterans and their eligible dependents, CBC is hosting a Veterans Priority Registration Day at all locations.

The Veterans Priority Registration Days are scheduled to take place inside of the Student Success Center (SSC) at each CBC location from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Veterans Priority Registration Days include the following:

  • CBC Kingsville: June 16
  • CBC Pleasanton: June 21
  • CBC Beeville: June 22
  • CBC Alice: June 23

Representatives from the Office of Veterans Affairs will be available to speak with veterans about the various academic and workforce programs that are available while attending CBC. In addition, one-on-one assistance with the CBC admissions application and financial aid application will also be available.
