CBC Street Team: Meet Brianna

Coastal Bend College is proud to announce the four students who were selected to be part of the CBC Street Team! The team is structured as a social media/marketing internship where the students will learn about creating quality, engaging content and the ins-and-outs of using various social media platforms. We’re excited to introduce you to Brianna today…take it away, Brianna!

Hello! My name is Brianna, and I am super excited to be a part of the Coastal Bend College (CBC) 2014-2015 Street Team! I was a little surprised that I got picked because I am a freshman while the others are sophomores, and I applied saying I wasn’t going to get it but here I am…and I’m so happy that I was chosen!

I guess now would be a great time for me to tell y’all folks a little bit about myself. I moved to Beeville my junior year of high school and attended A.C. Jones High School and graduated from there. I made a lot of friends and had a great experience, but as high school was ending I was  confused on what to do next. I decided to attend CBC while I figure out the next chapter of my life. I plan on majoring in Speech Therapy and would like to transfer to either the University of Texas at Austin or University of Houston.

What I like about CBC is that the main campus is located where I live. I still get to see my family every day and have my mom’s home cooked meals. Also there is assistance for whenever I need help with something. There are tutors to help when I am having problems with school work. The student development advisors are always nice and willing to help you anytime and day of the school week. Every problem that I ever encountered was always fixed within a day or two here at CBC, and that’s really important for a full-time college student that does not want any added stress to their schedule.

What I plan on learning from this internship is ways to improve my communication and journalism skills. Journalism has always been a passion of mine and I was little bummed when I graduated high school knowing that I wouldn’t be able to do it anymore. I’m glad this opportunity popped up in my life, and I plan on having a lot of fun with it. It’s great being with other students who have the same interests as me and I can’t wait to start this incredible internship and plan on making it a great experience!
