The latest official news from CBC!

CBC Street Team: Meet Jasmine

We introduced you to CBC Street Team member Brianna earlier today, and now we’d love for you to meet Jasmine. Jasmine is one of our outstanding (and uber talented) student athletes, plus she’s a tutor and an all-around supporter of all things CBC. She’s always in a great mood, and she’s a wonderful young woman. Jasmine, tell us all about yourself!

Jasmine01

Hey y’all! My name is Jasmine, and I attend Coastal Bend College.  I am originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from W.B. Ray High School. I am currently a math major here and on top of that I am also a member of the CBC Women’s Basketball Team. So, I hope to see many of you in the stands!

Attending CBC has really been one of the best decisions I have made as far as my education goes. CBC provides such a comfortable environment to work in and provides a fantastic student to teacher ratio to make sure no one is left out.

Being a sophomore I have had the pleasure of working with lots of instructors which are all amazing but one that really sticks out to me is Ms. Best. She is a math teacher here at the Beeville campus and let me tell y’all, this woman knows what she is talking about. I had her for college algebra and pre-calculus and if she wouldn’t have been there on those lazy days I didn’t want to do anything, or those days my brain got left in my bed, I don’t know if I would have made it.

So if you’re reading this right now, Ms. Best, YOU ROCK MY SOCKS!!!

Having amazing teachers like Ms. Best and the other instructors has truly made my CBC experience amazing. So I thought about it and was like, “Hhmm, what could I do to give back to my school that has done so much for me?” Then I saw the applications for the CBC Street Team, read about it, and was like WOW this is it! Being accepted was so exciting for me, and I can’t wait to tell everyone about how great I think CBC is while also improving my personal skills. Plus, I’ll get to improve my writing (of course!), and I’ll get to know more people throughout the school at the events.

Being a part of the street team I hope to learn to become a better writer and speaker which will in turn benefit me in my future plans of attending the University of North Texas in the fall of 2015! Can’t wait to rock the school year!
