Lifelong Learning Academy

The Lifelong Learning Academy is a group of courses offered through Coastal Bend College’s Department of Continuing Education that will focus on education, engagement, and life enrichment and are facilitated by volunteers with a passion for their chosen subjects. Courses are intended to be enjoyable and stimulating for all participants and include opportunities for social interaction.

Courses will run from late-September through mid-November and will include:

Alice

• Informational with Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend
• Newspaper updates with the Alice Echo
• Weapons Demonstration by the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures

Beeville

• History and ghost hunting, presented by Michael Vasquez
• Boys and Girls Club of Beeville
• Weapons Demonstration by the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures
• Bat Ecology, Presenting by Sara Rock, interpreter at Goose Island State Park
• Tour of the Beeville Art Museum
• Tour and tasting at Coastal Bend Distilling
• And more!

Kingsville

• Presentation by CASA of the Coastal Bend
• John E. Conner Museum, presented by Kathy Pawelek
• Weapon Demonstration by the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures

Pleasanton

• How to use your smartphone

The fee to participate is $45 for the fall semester and includes access to all Lifelong Learning courses.
