Coastal Bend College gets $447,000 boost for Airframe and Power Technology program

Texas Military Preparedness Commission recently awarded Coastal Bend College a $447,000 grant to be used for power technology equipment. CBC is one of three community colleges in Texas to be awarded grant funding. CBC offers an Associate’s Degree of Applied Sciences in Airframe and Power Technology, a Level I Certificate in Powerplant; a Level I Certificate in Airframe; a Level I Certificate in Turbine Aircraft Training and a General Aviation Certificate. Coastal Bend College hosts Dia Del Mariachi in Alice

On Saturday April 17, Alice, Texas will host the largest Mariachi competition venue in the state of Texas. Coastal Bend College and Alice Independent School District host the 8th Annual Dia Del MariachiTM with over 40 groups and over 800 mariachi students competing in high school and middle school divisions. Vocal, Middle School Group and High School Group competitions begin at 8:30 a.m. at Alice High School. The public is invited to attend and to listen to some of the Texas’ finest young mariachi ensembles. Admission is $2 per person.

Coastal Bend College hosts Dia Del Mariachi (TM) in Alice

Area middle and high schools are scheduled to compete in the Eighth Annual Día Del MariachiTM on Saturday, April 17 at Alice High School, located at 1 Coyote Trail in Alice. Free Veterans Information Fair set for Jan. 21 in Beeville

Coastal Bend College Counseling Department and Texas Veterans Land Board will sponsor an info session for veterans in the James R. Dougherty Jr. Student Center [SUB] on Jan. 21, noon to 2 p.m. The event is open to the public but specifically targeted to Armed Forces veterans.
