Coastal Bend College selected as a top school in Military Advanced Education’s 2015 Guide to Colleges & Universities

Military Advanced Education (MAE) has awarded Coastal Bend College the designation of a Top School in its 2015 MAE Guide to Colleges & Universities, measuring best practices in military and veteran education. Dr. Beatriz Espinoza named Coastal Bend College president

Coastal Bend College Board of Trustees selected Dr. Beatriz Espinoza as the president. “Dr. Beatriz Espinoza aligned with the responsibilities and expectations we were looking for in our new president,” said Paul Jaure, Coastal Bend College Board of Trustees Chair. The board made the decision to select Espinoza in closed session during a March 22 board meeting. The finalist was announced less than 30 minutes later. “We look forward to her leadership.”

Students planning to attend classes at Coastal Bend College starting in January 2012 may register now at www.coastalbend.edu. A bacterial meningitis vaccination, with the last shot in the series administered no less than ten days before the start of classes, is required for new and transfer students and those returning after a break of at least one semester. Future Coastal Bend College students can now apply online at www.Applytexas.org. A single application can be submitted to most public Texas colleges and universities.

Coastal Bend College makes immediate changes to immunization policy in line with new state law

Beginning Spring 2012 semester, a new state law requires all students entering institutions of higher education to show evidence of receiving a bacterial meningitis vaccination or booster dose during the five year period prior to enrollment and not less than ten days before the first day of the semester. Entering students include transfer students from other colleges and returning or continuing students who have had a break in enrollment of at least one fall or spring semester.
