Coastal Bend College Adult Basic Education students practice fire safety at Lott-Canada

Each month, students in the Adult Basic Education program at Coastal Bend College come together for activity day, a shared learning experience outside of the traditional classroom setting. Typical activities include presentations from guest speakers, and participatory events such as science stations and multi-level spelling bees. When Program Director Roxann Gleason learned about ProLiteracy’s Keys to Safety Campaign, she decided to host an activity day dedicated to fire prevention and safety. Learn about SBA programs and services that provide small businesses access to capital needed

Lender Relations Specialist Annie Hudspeth, a U.S. Small Business Administration representation, will join guest speakers from the Small Business Development Center in Beeville on May 12, noon to 3 p.m. at Coastal Bend College Lott-Canada Facility. Both start-up and existing entrepreneurs will learn how to gain access to capital for their business needs. Business owners will also learn about SBA programs and services to provide small businesses access to capital needed to drive economic recovery and to retain jobs.
