Phi Theta Kappa to host Fundraiser at CBC Beeville

Coastal Bend College’s (CBC) Rho Lambda chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is hosting a turkey & dressing plate fundraiser on Thursday, March 30. The fundraiser will take place at CBC Beeville inside of the James R. Dougherty Student Center from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The plates are $8 and will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce and bread. Baked goods, drinks and confetti eggs will also be available for purchase on the day of the fundraiser.

PTK is an international academic honor society that promotes scholarship amongst two-year college students. PTK provides students with the opportunity to develop a specific skill set that is focused on honor, leadership and service.

CBC Radiologic Technology Program to host Information Session

The Radiologic Technology Program at Coastal Bend College (CBC) invites prospective students to attend an information session on Tuesday, April 4 at 3:30 p.m. Students who are interested in enrolling into the College’s Radiologic Technology Program are highly encouraged to attend one of the information sessions. Information sessions will take place concurrently at the following CBC locations:

  • CBC Beeville- George F. Elam Building Room 111
  • CBC Alice- Room 204
  • CBC Kingsville- Room 120
  • CBC Pleasanton- Room 138

Sealant Day huge success for CBC Dental Hygiene program

Photo Cutline: Students in CBC’s Dental Hygiene program provided members of the community with free dental exams, dental cleanings and sealants at Sealant Day.

In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month, the Coastal Bend College (CBC) Dental Hygiene program hosted Sealant Day on Saturday, February 25. This free event provided both youth and adults with the opportunity to receive free dental hygiene services as well as sealants.

Individuals who were not able to attend this free event are encouraged to schedule an appointment with the CBC Dental Hygiene program. The College’s Dental Hygiene program operates a clinic that conducts teeth cleaning for the general public on:

Monday & Wednesday

8:15 a.m.

10:15 a.m.

12:45 p.m.

2:45 p.m.

Tuesday & Thursday

8:15 a.m.

Fees for the College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic are: free for senior citizens (65 & older), military (active & retired) and CBC faculty & staff; $5 for CBC students with a valid student ID; and $10 for the general public. Additionally, multiple appointments, x-rays and sealants are available at no additional charge to patients after the first initial visit.

CBC Basketball to host Boys & Girls Club Basketball Day

The Coastal Bend College (CBC) men’s and women’s basketball teams invite all Boys & Girls Club basketball participants to the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gym) on Saturday, March 4. Both of CBC’s basketball teams will be hosting Angelina College and all Boys & Girls Club basketball participants are encouraged to wear their team shirt for free admission. Individuals who are accompanying a Boys & Girls Club basketball participant, in their team shirt, will receive $1 admission.
