The Coastal Bend College (CBC) Beeville campus, in partnership with Angel Care Ambulance, is offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Training Course beginning Thursday, February 3.
This course is being offered through the College’s Continuing Education program and will take place inside of the Angel Care Classroom, which is located at 1201 W. Corpus Christi Street. The cost of the course is $1,605 and students will have the opportunity to apply for the Texas Public Educational Grant (TPEG) for financial assistance.
Prior to the course, students should be American Heart Association CPR certified and purchase the course textbook titled Emergency Care- High School Edition 14th Edition (ISBN-13:978-0136626176) with the MyLab Access Code. Additionally, prospective students who sign up for the course can be 17 years of age, but they must be 18 years of age in order to be employed after the successful completion of the course.
Classes are scheduled to begin Thursday, February 3 and end on Monday, August 29. The class schedule is as follows: Monday and Thursday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. inside of the Angel Care Classroom. Prospective students who are interested in pursuing this course should note that they will earn 312 hours of instruction, which includes 48 hours in the ambulance.
