Coastal Bend College has a program that makes it easy to take high-quality, noncredit online courses. Coastal Bend College has partnered with ed2go to offer hundreds of online, instructor-led courses and is pleased to announce the launch of “NASM Personal Trainer + AFAA Group Fitness Instructor.”
Being a certified personal trainer is a way of showing your expertise in fitness to others. This course focuses on two of the most in-demand certifications for fitness: NASM Certified Personal Trainer and AFAA Group Fitness Instructor. The material is taught through presentations, hands-on activities and videos. The exams cover information such as fitness assessments, nutrition and the science of human movement.
This course is part of Coastal Bend College’s growing catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online courses. Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with fellow students, participants in these courses gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. They have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. In this comprehensive course, participants will learn how to develop a healthy approach to losing weight and maintain the weight loss. There are many factors involved in losing weight, including eating well, exercising, sleeping, staying hydrated, and managing stress. The instructor for this course is Donna Acosta, RDN, ACE-Certified Health Coach, a registered dietician and nutrition education. Her clinical expertise includes weight management, diabetes nutrition care, and cardiac rehabilitation management.
Certificate in Food, Nutrition, and Health
People’s health can be heavily impacted by the food they consume. This course focuses on providing a complete view of current issues regarding food and nutrition and how they impact your physical, social, spiritual, and emotional health. After you finish this course, you will be more conscious of what you eat, how it is prepared and why you wat it.
