Coastal Bend College Introduces Online Course: Nutrition and Health Bundle

Coastal Bend College has a program that makes it easy to take high-quality, noncredit online courses. Coastal Bend College has partnered with ed2go to offer hundreds of online, instructor-led courses and is pleased to announce the launch of “Nutrition and Health Bundle.”

Participants will get an overview of current nutrition and food issues that impact their emotional, social, physical, and spiritual health. Through this certificate, students will learn what we eat, why we eat it, how it is prepared and made, and the potential problems our food choices will have on our health and the health of Earth. You will also learn about how to change your eating habits for more healthful outcomes and the impact of stress on the body.

This course is part of Coastal Bend College’s growing catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online courses. Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with fellow students, participants in these courses gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. They have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. And they can access the classroom 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet connection.

New sessions of each course run every month. They last six weeks, with two new lessons being released weekly (for a total of 12). courses are entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and assignments. A dedicated professional instructor facilitates every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.

Veterinary Assistant Series

If you want to learn more about a variety of health and safety issues related to pets and learn more about pet nutrition, this course will help. Through this course, you’ll go through special lessons that focus on specific aspects of veterinary assistant duties. Since veterinarians are small businesses, the participant will also learn the foundations of the business including how income is generated, where it goes, and explore how to market the clinic. This course is taught by a college instructor and a practicing veterinarian, that have direct insight into the field.

Lose Weight and Keep It Off

In this comprehensive course, participants will learn how to develop a healthy approach to losing weight and maintain the weight loss. There are many factors involved in losing weight, including eating well, exercising, sleeping, staying hydrated, and managing stress. The instructor for this course is Donna Acosta, RDN, ACE-Certified Health Coach, a registered dietician and nutrition education. Her clinical expertise includes weight management, diabetes nutrition care, and cardiac rehabilitation management.
