The CBC Vocational Nursing Program teaches the skills needed to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. The Nighttime LVN program is 16 months, enrollment varies per cohort, and classes are from 5:30 pm – 10:30 pm Tuesday thru Friday and varied hours Saturday including some online work scheduled. The next cohort for the Nighttime LVN Program begins in January 2020 and completes the following May 2021. Clinical vary by hours through the year including Fridays.
The requirements for the program include TEAS score (55% or higher). The TEAS test may be scheduled through our nursing department support specialist on any of our three campuses. Testing can be scheduled with the Nursing Support Specialist, Jeannie Winter at the Pleasanton Campus- 830-569-4222 ext. 1204. TEAS test are given every Friday at 9 a.m. on campus throughout the year. The cost of the test is $65 plus tax and you will have three separate attempts to pass the test. The test is good for one year. The TEAS is a multiple-choice assessment test measuring basic academic preparedness in Reading, Math, Science, and English. TEAS exams are given Friday throughout the year in Pleasanton.
There are clinical days scheduled per semester that start around the mid-term. The program is dynamic and makes changes to ensure that we are meeting Board of Nursing and competency requirements and is subject to change.
There are no prerequisites required to begin the program, the spring registration deadline for the program is October 25 and the TEAS testing deadline for the spring is October 25.
