In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month, the Coastal Bend College (CBC) dental Hygiene program hosted Sealant Day on Saturday, February 23. This free event provided both youth and adults with the opportunity to receive free dental hygiene services as well as sealants.
Based on a copy of the ADA usual customary fee schedule for 2018, the total cost of services performed on Sealant Day was $14,614. Without the help and support of our volunteers, Sealant Day would not be possible. The dentists that volunteered included: Dr. Mary Phelps, Dr. Wade Phelps, Dr. Robert Fletcher, and Dr. James Duncan. This was the most successful sealant day yet, with more volunteers and the students busy all day.
The following procedures were performed:
Sealants = 181
1 Bitewing xray=1
2 Bitewing xray=1
4 Bitewing xray=13
Full mouth xray=2
Exam by Dentist=17
