BEEVILLE–Coastal Bend College (CBC) announced today that Charlie Overstreet has been named the NJCAA DIII Baseball Player of the Week for all games played during Week 5 (Feb 20-26).
Overstreet, a sophomore from Dripping Springs, TX, batted .500 in five games during Week 5 including 12 RBI’s, three stolen bases and three home runs while helping CBC go 5-0 against Laredo Community College and Houston Community College.
“To say we are proud of Charlie doesn’t do justice to the work this young man puts in. This is the first time in CBC’s baseball history that we have had a player named to this national award,” said Brian Bauerle, Head Baseball Coach. “He exemplifies the term student athlete. He shines not just on the diamond but also in the classroom. He maintains a 3.6 GPA, yet is the first one at practice and the last to leave,” added Bauerle.
