Sub headline: Deadline for TEAS Exam Quickly Approaching
Prospective students who are interested in pursuing a licensed vocational nursing (LVN) degree and/or a registered nursing (RN) degree at Coastal Bend College (CBC) must take the required Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) before they are considered for either program.
The TEAS exam is a multiple-choice assessment compiled of objectives that nursing and allied health educators utilize to gauge a student’s academic preparedness. Each examination is comprised of various subjects including reading, math, science, English and language usage.
CBC’s Beeville, Alice, Pleasanton and Kingsville locations will administer the TEAS exam on an appointment basis. Appointment times are available beginning Tuesday, January 24 and ending Friday, February 10. In order to reserve a seat on exam day, students will need to contact their respective CBC location via email or phone and provide their name, phone number, email address and the date that they would like to take the exam.
On exam day, students should make arrangements to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled exam time. Students will also need a picture ID as well as a debit, credit or pre-paid card to pay the $55 exam fee. In addition, a student has the opportunity to take the TEAS exam three times, but the student must pay each time.
