Coastal Bend College’s (CBC) Athletic Department recently hosted an awards banquet for the men’s soccer team. The awards banquet was hosted to honor CBC’s student athletes for their historical 2016 season.

In addition, two players from CBC’s men’s soccer team were named to the NJCAA All-Region XIV teams. Defender Conor Lee and left wing Sam Fearon each received All-Region XIV honors for their excellent performance this season on the pitch.

Lee is a sophomore from Bedford, England who was one of the 2016 captains for the College’s soccer team this season. He started 19 games for the Cougars and tallied three goals with three assists. Fearon is a freshman from Nottingham, England. He played in 17 games for the Cougars. This season, he recorded eight goals with three assists.

This year, CBC’s men’s soccer team finished 14-6 overall with a record of 9-5 in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIV play. The men’s soccer team hosted its first-ever NJCAA Region XIV quarterfinal playoff match this season against Paris Junior College (PJC). CBC defeated PJC, 2-0. The team’s historic season came to an end when the Cougars traveled to Houston, Texas to play San Jacinto College-South. CBC fell to San Jacinto College-South, 3-2.
