Coastal Bend College (CBC) is pleased to announce that a licensed vocational nursing (LVN) to registered nursing (RN) Bridge Program will start a new cohort of 23 students during the spring 2017 semester. Interested students should have already obtained their LVN level I certificate from an accredited college and/or university.

The application process begins with the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test. Interested students should complete the TEAS test no later than October 21, 2016. CBC offers the TEAS test at the Beeville, Alice, Kingsville and Pleasanton campuses. Students should note that they must schedule a test date/time, bring a picture ID on testing day, and bring a debit/credit/pre-paid card to pay the $55 test fee. Additional information about the TEAS test can be found online at www.coastalbend.edu/TEAS_Schedule/.

In order to be eligible to receive an application to the program, a student must score a minimum score of a 70 on the TEAS exam. Applications will not be given to any person not scoring a minimum of 70. Students that met the minimum TEAS score requirement of 70, but were not selected for the fall 2016 cohort can reapply to the program for spring 2016 without needing to retake the TEAS test, however if they wish to improve their score they may retake the TEAS test.

All application materials are due by 5:00 p.m. on November 4, 2016. Application materials are accepted at anyone of the four CBC campuses. The Nursing Selection Committee will screen applicants for the program on November 10, 2016. Acceptance letters will be mailed out on November 11 and November 14. The top scoring 23 students will be accepted into the spring cohort program.

The Spring RN Cohort will take RN courses during the spring 2017 and fall 2017 semesters. No nursing courses will take place during the summer, which gives students in the program an opportunity to work on completing their core courses.
