Headline: CBC to host free grant writing workshop
Coastal Bend College (CBC), in partnership with the U. S. Census Bureau, is hosting the “Using Census Data for Grant Writing” workshop on Thursday, September 15. The workshop will take place inside of the R. W. Dirks Student Services Building on the Beeville campus in room 119 at 9 a.m.
Members of the community and surrounding areas who are interested in using socio-economic populations statistics to write grants are invited to attend this free event. A U. S. Census Bureau representative will be on hand to train attendees on grant writing and social impact statements.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to conduct informational searches via American Factfinder (data search tool) and the American Community Survey. These searches will provide attendees with information such as educational attainment, income, occupation, commuting to work, poverty status, nativity and selected homeowner costs. Additionally, the U. S. Census Bureau representative will also demonstrate the proper way to download the data into useable formats.
Space for CBC’s free “Using Census Data for Grant Writing” workshop is limited. Prospective attendees should contact CBC’s Grant Writer Veronica Molina at 361-354-2276 or via email at vmolina@coastalbend.edu to reserve their spot today.
