CBC Registered Nursing graduates honored at annual pinning and candle lighting ceremony

Headline: CBC Registered Nursing graduates honored at annual pinning and candle lighting ceremony

The Coastal Bend College (CBC) Registered Nursing (RN) program recently hosted a pinning and candle lighting ceremony for graduates who successfully completed the program. Family, friends, and members of the community joined 14 graduates at the CBC Beeville campus for the annual ceremony.

The annual pinning and candle lighting ceremony is an annual ceremony that celebrates the success of the College’s RN graduates and symbolizes a rite of passage into the registered nursing profession. During the ceremony, each student received a pin and a small lamp. The pin serves as a reminder to assist those who are injured, sick or dying. The lamp that each graduate receives symbolizes a student’s intention to carry out Florence Nightingale’s, the founder of modern day nursing, dedication and compassion for the nursing profession forward. Each graduates lamp was lit as they recited the Florence Nightingale Nursing Pledge.
