Headline: CBC Beeville set to host Cougar Day New Student Orientation on July 28
Students who are planning on attending the Coastal Bend College (CBC) Beeville campus for the fall 2016 semester are invited to attend a Cougar Day New Student Orientation taking place on Thursday, July 28 at 3800 Charco Road beginning at 8 a.m.
The new student orientation is a key component of the College’s Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), CBC Smart Start, which aims to increase student success rates amongst first-time college students. Students who attend Cougar Day have a higher rate of success than those who did not attend according to 2015-2016 academic year data.
Cougar Day is a fun, informative event where students have the opportunity to learn information that will be beneficial in their first year of college. CBC’s faculty and staff from various departments will conduct informative sessions that cover topics such as CBC student services, tutoring, student life, study tips, Blackboard and student email.
A complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided to all attendees. In addition, students who attend the Cougar Day New Student Orientation and complete all requirements will receive a free t-shirt and USB drive. Several drawings will take place throughout the day for CBC book scholarships and gift certificates.
In order to attend the Cougar Day New Student Orientation, students must register online at www.coastalbend.edu/cougardays. Students are encouraged to complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. The FAFSA can be found online at www.fafsa.gov and students should use CBC’s school code number of 003546 to ensure the College receives their application.
