CBC offers tuition waiver for individuals 65 and up
Community members age 65 or over who would like to take courses to learn a new language, explore their artistic side or delve into British literature can take advantage of Coastal Bend College’s (CBC) 65+ tuition waiver.
Beginning with summer 2016 courses, individuals 65 and over can register for up to six hours each semester free of charge. The waiver does not cover out of district fees, course fees, or books and supplies. The waiver cannot be used on continuing education courses for which the college receives no state tax support or courses that are already filled with students who are paying full price for the courses.
There are no restrictions as to which course(s) a student may enroll in under this program, although CBC admissions criteria still does apply for certain courses and programs. Upon successful completion of the course(s), the student will earn college credit.
Students planning on utilizing this waiver must be 65 before the semester in which they plan to enroll. Verification/proof of age will be required before the tuition waiver is granted by the CBC Business Office.
Individuals who are interested in enrolling and utilizing this tuition waiver should submit their CBC Admissions Application at www.coastalbend.edu/applynow. To make an appointment to visit with an advisor please email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the CBC location nearest you.
