Q: Will there be a rehearsal before the commencement ceremonies?
CBC is hosting a rehearsal for the commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 5 at 4 p.m. The rehearsal will take place at the CBC Beeville campus inside of the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gym).
Q: Where will graduation take place?
Commencement ceremonies for all CBC locations will take place at CBC Beeville, which is located at 3800 Charco Road. Both ceremonies will take place inside of the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gymnasium).
Q: Who graduates during the morning commencement ceremony?
CBC’s morning commencement ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. The following programs will participate in the morning commencement ceremony: Airframe & Power Technology, Associate of Science, Cosmetology, Dental Hygiene, Drafting & Design, Early Development and Education, Forensic Science, Law Enforcement/ Criminal Justice, and Oil & Gas Technology.
Q: Who graduates during the afternoon commencement ceremony?
CBC’s afternoon commencement ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. The following programs will participate in the afternoon commencement ceremony: Accounting, Associate of Arts, Automotive Technology, Computer Information Technology, Health Information Technology, Medical Records Coding, Machinist, Professional Business Technology, Nursing (CAN, LVN & RN), Radiologic Technology, and Welding Technology.
Q: Is there a graduation for each CBC site?
No. CBC’s commencement ceremonies are hosted at the Beeville campus for all CBC locations. Graduates from the off-sites will participate in the commencement ceremonies at CBC Beeville on Friday, May 6.
Q: What time should graduates arrive for graduation?
Students who are graduating at 10 a.m. (morning commencement ceremony) should arrive at the Beeville campus auditorium no later than 8:30 a.m. and students who are graduating at 2 p.m. (afternoon commencement ceremony) should arrive no later than 12:30 p.m.
Q: What time do the doors open for graduation?
Doors open at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. commencement ceremony and 1 p.m. for the 2 p.m. commencement ceremony.
Q: What am I allowed to bring to graduation if I am a graduate?
Please do not bring your bags and/or purse with you to graduation because there will not be a designated place for you to keep your personal belongings safe.
Q: Who is allowed to come to graduation?
Admission for CBC’s commencement ceremonies is free. Both ceremonies are open for attendance by community members and the graduate’s friends and family.
Q: Which ceremony do I attend if I am receiving certificates/degrees at both times?
Graduates will be able to choose which ceremony they would like to attend only if they are receiving certificates/degrees at both the 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. ceremonies.
Q: Who is allowed to attend the free dessert reception after both commencement ceremonies? Where will the reception take place?
The dessert reception is free for graduates and their guests. It will take place immediately following the commencement ceremony outside of the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gymnasium).
Q: What should graduates wear under their cap & gown?
Students should wear their “Sunday’s Best” underneath their cap & gown. All graduates must wear a black cap & gown, or they risk not being able to participate in commencement ceremonies.
Q: What hashtag should I use for graduation?
Students who are graduating from CBC should utilize the official hash tag of their class: #CBCGrad16.
Q: Will someone be taking photos at graduation?
Yes. CBC’s Office of Marketing & Public Relations will take candid photos and stage photos of all graduates who participate in the commencement ceremonies. The photos will be available within two weeks after the event. Photos may be viewed and downloaded online at www.facebook.com/coastalbendcollege.
