The Coastal Bend College (CBC) Beeville campus will host the Sixth Annual CBC Cougar Powerlifting Competition on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. This year’s meet is sanctioned by USA Powerlifting (USAPL) and will take place inside of the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center located at 3800 Charco Road.

The meet will consist of four meet options including a full powerlifting meet (squat, bench press and dead lift), bench press only meet, push/pull meet or deadlift only meet. Interested athletes have the following divisions to choose from: youth, teen, junior, open, master and Special Olympics.

A USAPL membership card must be purchased prior to an athlete’s registration for the powerlifting meet. USAPL membership cards range from $10- $45 and may be purchased online at http://bit.ly/USAPLMembership. Registration for CBC’s Cougar Powerlifting Competition is also available online at http://bit.ly/CBCPowerlifting. The registration fee for athletes varies from $20- $55.

Meet officials will conduct a weigh-in and equipment check for all lifters on Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m. All mail-in applications must be postmarked by Saturday, April 9. Entries that are postmarked after Saturday, April 9 will be assessed a $25 late fee. The deadline for online applications is Wednesday, April 13.
