CBC crowns Mr. & Miss CBC at 50th Anniversary Scholarship Pageant

The Mr. & Miss Coastal Bend College (CBC) Scholarship Pageant featured 17 students from Beeville and the surrounding areas who were vying for over $3,500 in scholarship funds. Six of those students were selected to represent CBC throughout the 2015-2016 academic year.

Winners of the Mr. & Miss CBC Scholarship Pageant include 2nd runners up Mauro Luna and Grace Arden Riley; 1st runners up Connor Christie and Angelica Sanchez; and Mr. CBC Colter Dees and Miss CBC Roxanne Perez. 

CBC students who also competed in the scholarship pageant include Angelika M. Benavidez, Darren Burns, Ashton R. Cleveland, Briana A. Davila, April Gonzales-Gutierrez, Andrew C. Groseclose, Kristina Kana, Jamie M. Perez, Roxanne L. Perez, Grace A. Riley, Nikki Sandidge, Abigail Silva and Anissa Valverde.

Judges for the Mr. & Miss CBC Scholarship Pageant included Beeville City Councilman Bebe Adamez, Women’s Shelter of South Texas Outreach Services Director Adriana McKinnon and Beeville Main Street Program Director Michelle Clark Trevino. In addition, the Honorable Judge Stephanie Silvas was also in attendance to assist with the coronation portion of the scholarship pageant. 

Various CBC faculty, staff and students generously volunteered their time to support CBC students who competed in the scholarship pageant. CBC’s cosmetology students provided free hair and makeup services to contestants. The Pantry Convenience Stores generously sponsored breakfast for the contestants at the dress rehearsal, which took place the day before the scholarship pageant.
