Headline: CBC’s Baseball Birthday Bash adds H-E-B as sponsor

Coastal Bend College (CBC), in partnership with the CBC Foundation, H-E-B, Angel Care Ambulance and Kicker 106, invites community members from Beeville and the surrounding areas to attend CBC’s Baseball Birthday Bash on Saturday, July 4 at Joe Hunter Field located at 3800 Charco Road. The event is a free community celebration in honor of the College’s 50th anniversary.

H-E-B Beeville is sponsoring food and prizes for the hot dog eating contest that will take place between the CBC Baseball and celebrity softball games. A sign-up for the contest will be conducted during the CBC Men’s Baseball game that begins at about 4:15 p.m.

There will also be a special appearance by the H-E-Buddy. CBC’s cougar mascot and H-E-Buddy will participate in a base running contest in between innings.

CBC’s Baseball Birthday Bash’s schedule of events includes:

· 4 p.m.: Ribbon cutting for the newly remodeled Joe Hunter Field followed by the CBC Men’s Baseball game; first 300 fans receive a commemorative baseball compliments of the CBC Foundation.
· 4 p.m.-7 p.m.: Various games and activities will take place throughout the CBC Soccer Field, located adjacent to the baseball stadium.
· 7 p.m.: A local celebrity softball game will feature CBC employees playing against community members/leaders.
· 8 p.m.-9:30 p.m.: The CBC Foundation presents “The Cuveralls”, an eclectic four-man band.
· 9:30 p.m.: A free fireworks display, sponsored by Angel Care Ambulance and Kicker 106, will cap off the event.

Event goers are welcome to park in the parking lot located next to the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gym).
