Community members from Beeville and the surrounding areas are invited to attend Coastal Bend College’s (CBC) Baseball Birthday Bash in honor of the college’s 50th anniversary. This free family friendly event is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, July 4 at Joe Hunter Field located on the Beeville campus at 3800 Charco Road.

CBC’s Baseball Birthday Bash will begin at 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting for the newly remodeled Joe Hunter Field, the first full turf baseball field in South Texas. Immediately following the ribbon cutting a CBC Baseball game will take place with current and former CBC Baseball players.

Throughout the CBC Baseball game attendees will have the opportunity to sign-up to compete in a hot dog eating contest, sponsored by H-E-B Beeville. The hot dog eating contest will take place after the CBC Baseball game.

A Celebrity Softball Game will take place immediately following the hot dog eating contest at 7 p.m. The game will feature local business owners, community leaders and CBC employees.

Entertainment for all ages will be available throughout the evening. Free games and activities will be hosted from 4-7 p.m. in the Joe Hunter Field parking lot. The CBC Information Technology department will provide a free digital photo booth for attendees.

Through a generous donation from the CBC Foundation, the first 300 community members who attend the CBC Baseball game will receive a free commemorative baseball. The CBC Foundation is also sponsoring a free concert at 8 p.m. headlined by The Cuveralls – an eclectic hometown four-man cover band. Concert will take place at the CBC Soccer Field adjacent to the Joe Hunter Field complex. The evening is capped off with a free fireworks display sponsored by Angel Care Ambulance and Kicker 106.

Attendees are welcome to park in the parking lot located next to the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gym). Handicap drop-off and pick-up will be available at the stadium.
