Sub headline: Attendance is free to students thanks to generosity of donors
Coastal Bend College (CBC) will host Kids College for students in grades 2-6 beginning June 15 until June 26. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Beeville campus as well as the Alice, Kingsville and Pleasanton sites.
This year’s Kids College theme is “Power to Choose”, and participants of the program will be exposed to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), business and fine arts. Instructors and/or professionals who are currently working in the field will present different career paths to students each day. Students will also participate in hands on activities that relate to those careers.
The Coastal Bend Community Foundation and the Joe Barnhart Foundation have generously donated funds that allow CBC to host Kids College free of charge to the general public. Space is limited and admittance into the program is on a first come, first serve basis. Each CBC location will accept 35 students. An extended camp option is available for $50 per week for parents who will need to drop off their student at 7:30 a.m. and/or pick them up after 3 p.m.
Parents or community members interested in volunteering their time to Kids College can contact the Kids College coordinator at the CBC location nearest them.
