Headline: CBC Alice career fair provides employment opportunities
The Coastal Bend College (CBC) Alice Site, along with Kicker 106 and Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend (WFSCB), hosted the Coastal Bend College Community Career & Job Fair on March 31.
Members of the Alice community and CBC students were provided with more than 30 local and state employers in a variety of professions. Those who were in attendance were able to speak with representatives from businesses/agencies about employment opportunities that are currently available.
“CBC provides the community and its students with a job/career fair, so that they are aware of the businesses and agencies that are in their professions,” CBC’s Career Development Coordinator Miguel Aguilar said. “We are trying to provide our students with the opportunity to network and build relationships before and after they graduate. We care about the continued success of our students and the Alice community.”
The academic and workforce programs that are offered throughout CBC Alice equip students with a solid foundation of knowledge that they will need to be successful in their respective field of study. CBC Alice’s top priority is producing students who transition into high quality employees that meet the demand of the economy in the Coastal Bend.
“This was such a great event and turn out,” Senior Recruiter for Christus Spohn Health System Manuel Acuna said. “With the CBC Alice Site having such a big nursing program it was great to answer questions and talk with the future of nursing.”
Employers who were unable to attend the career fair should contact the CBC Career Services Office via phone or via email to make arrangements for job postings to appear on a career service and employer network that is available to all current CBC students.
