CBC Softball’s Reneal Rodriguez awarded national player of the week award

Photo Cutline: CBC Softball’s Reneal Rodriguez has proven to be an offensive threat this season for her opponents. Throughout March 16-22 she had four home runs, five RBIs and two doubles during eight at bats.

 

Headline: CBC Softball’s Reneal Rodriguez awarded national player of the week award

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national office honored Coastal Bend College’s (CBC) Softball Player Reneal Rodriguez as the Division I player of the week for games played March 16-22.

Rodriguez is a sophomore at CBC who splits her playing abilities between catching and filling in as a designated player. Her seven home runs place her second in the Region 14 conference.  With half of the regular season left to play, Rodriguez currently has a .359 batting average during 64 at bats.

She is currently pursing an associate of science degree. Upon completion of her associate’s degree she plans on pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. As a student athlete, Rodriguez currently boasts a 3.4 GPA.  She is the daughter of Rene and Hilda Rodriguez of Edcouch, Texas.
