The Coastal Bend College (CBC) Women’s Basketball team will host a free open tryout on Sunday, March 29 at 11 a.m. in the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center (gymnasium) located on the CBC Beeville Campus on 3800 Charco Road. Prospective athletes who would like to participate should bring a copy of their current physical with them the day of the tryout. Headline: CBC Women’s Basketball Brianna Williams honored by Region 14

Sub headline: Brianna Williams etched in record books with postseason honor

The 2014-2015 season marked the first year that Coastal Bend College (CBC) Women’s Basketball team was eligible to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Region XIV division. Head Coaches from Region XIV honored CBC’s sophomore guard and Houston native, Brianna Williams, for her spectacular season that was cut short due to a knee injury.

She was selected to the NJCAA Division I All-Region XIV team as an honorable mention even though she missed the last nine regular season region games. Williams is the first CBC women’s basketball player in the program’s history to garnish a regional honor.

Throughout the season, Williams was a tremendous offensive asset for the Cougars this season. She led the region’s offensive side with an average of 17.9 points per game and was fifth in the region in assists with 3.9 per game.
