Softball SigningHeadline: CBC Softball player signs with Schreiner University

Coastal Bend College (CBC) sophomore student athlete Alyssa Reyes has become the second CBC softball player to sign a letter of intent with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Schreiner University. She is heading to Kerrville, Texas this fall to play softball as a catcher and utility player for the Mountaineers.

This May, Reyes will graduate from CBC with an Associate of Applied Science. While at Schreiner she plans on majoring in biology and obtaining a teaching certification. After graduation she plans on becoming a high school science teacher and softball coach. She is the daughter of John and Sharon Reyes and is originally from Ganado, Texas.

“I am thankful that CBC gave me the opportunity to play softball and continue my education,” said Reyes. “I’ve had a great overall experience because they meet all of my needs as a student athlete. I’m looking forward to playing softball at Schreiner, but as of right now I’m looking forward to a great last season at CBC with my coaches and teammates.”

The CBC softball team will be back in action on February 13 and 14 when they head to Midland, Texas to participate in the Midland Tournament. Don’t miss any of the CBC softball team action this season, please visit http://www.coastalbend.edu/Softball/ for more information.
