BEEVILLE, TX— Coastal Bend College (CBC) is pleased to announce the grand opening of its newest facility on campus, the Cougar Center. The Cougar Center, located in the R.W. Dirks Student Services Building, houses the admissions, registrar, and financial aid offices and is designed to be a one-stop location for students seeking to pursue higher education. Additionally, during peak registration times, a representative from the CBC Business Office will be in the center to help facilitate payment plans for students.

CBC invites all community members from Beeville and the surrounding areas to tour the new facility on January 21 at 4:30 p.m. during our Cougar Center Open House. The building’s namesake, R. W. Dirks, will be honored at the event for his decades of service and commitment to CBC, as well as his dedication to education in Bee County.

Dirks served as a CBC Board of Trustee member from 1971 through 2008 and also served on the Pettus Independent School District Board. To date, Dirks has donated over $170,000 to support CBC, and he is the inaugural member of the CBC Founders Circle Legacy Donor tier.

In addition to housing the new state-of-the-art Cougar Center, the R. W. Dirks Student Services Building showcases a variety of services that the College offers its students at no additional cost to current students. Its 19,000 square feet also houses career counseling, advising, tutoring, testing, and other student success services.
