CBC to host a free Veterans Fair on November 14

BEEVILLE, TX—Coastal Bend College invites all veterans to attend the Veterans Fair being held at the Beeville campus on 3800 Charco Road inside the James R. Dougherty Student Center from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Free lunch will be provided for all veterans.

During the Veteran’s Fair, representatives from over local community agencies and businesses will be on hand to speak to veterans about employment opportunities, services, and benefits they may qualify for. Also present will be CBC staff from the Student Development Office, admissions, financial aid, Weekend College, and other CBC programs to help guide veterans through the college admissions process.

“CBC provides many services to help veterans reach their educational and career goals. We’re here to serve them, and we’re eager to help them get started here at CBC. We’ll help them every step of the way,” Streicher added.

Veterans, their families, and the general public are also encouraged to stop by the San Antonio Mobile Vet Center provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Mobile Vet Center is designed to provide outreach and information to veterans living outside major metropolitan areas. VA staff will be on hand to help answer questions about claims, benefits and counseling services available to veterans. All services provided at the Mobile Vet Center are free of charge.

CBC hopes that all veterans will join us on November 14 for free food, fun, information, and door prizes. For more information about the Veterans Fair or veteran’s affairs benefits available at CBC, please contact Rosie Streicher at (361) 354-2421 or via email at rstreich@coastalbend.edu.
