Beeville, TX—Local high school juniors from A.C Jones High School, Goliad High School, Pettus High School and Skidmore High School are invited to attend the Coastal Bend College Title V Celebrando Educacion’s annual Bridge Program and Leadership Symposium this September on the CBC Beeville campus. The Bridge Program and Leadership Symposium are geared towards high school juniors enrolled or interested in enrolling in a CBC dual credit workforce program.
“These events aim to provide the student with the tools and information they need to succeed as a dual credit student at CBC. We highlight the many valuable resources CBC offers to them at no extra cost. They also engage in interactive sessions that build skills they can use in or outside of the classroom. Plus, attending these types of events is a great way to boost a student’s resume—college’s reward students with leadership skills,” said Title V Dual Enrollment Coordinator Sam Ramos.
The Bridge Program will be held on Tuesday, September 17 at the CBC Beeville campus, and is set-up as a special orientation for dual credit students to learn about CBC’s programs and resources. Attendees will receive some free school supplies and get to participate in fun, interactive activities.
Students who attend the Bridge Program are eligible to participate in the Leadership Symposium on Thursday, September 19. The Leadership Symposium will focus on building important leadership qualities that students will need to be marketable once they enter the workforce. Dr. Patsy Torres, national Tejano recording artist, will provide various leadership sessions and perform a concert for all the attendees.
Both the Bridge Program and Leadership Symposium are 100% free for all attendees. High school juniors from A.C Jones High School, Goliad High School, Pettus High School and Skidmore High School may pick-up an application from their high school counselor. Applications can also be downloaded online at www.coastalbend.edu/TVDCevents. For more information, please contact Sam Ramos at (361) 354-2262 or via email at saramos@coastalbend.edu.
