New Business Assessment Matrix Helps Business Owners Find the Keys to Success

The next BAM workshop is scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on May 16 in Beeville at Coastal Bend College, 3800 Charco Road. Additional BAM workshops are scheduled for March 22 in Paris; April 26 in Plainview; and June 26 in Waco.

One of most challenging responsibilities of being an economic developer is evaluating the risk associated with businesses seeking incentives from your EDC.  Business counselors continually search for more effective tools to help their clients start and grow successful business ventures.   Maybe you would just like to provide entrepreneurs an innovative proven process they can use to evaluate their venture to increase their chances for success.

If you fall into any of these categories or you are an entrepreneur wanting to take your business to the next level, then Workshop 5127:  Business Assessment Matrix (BAM): Keys to Business Success is a must for you.

“One good way of determining the potential success of businesses is to put them under the microscope,” said Dr. Greg Clary, TCRE Chairman. “The BAM is a new one of a kind proven assessment tool that will help you dissect the business concept and organization into its critical elements in order to manage risk, allocate resources and mitigate areas of weakness. If you are an economic developer, business counselor or investor, the BAM should be in your toolbox,” continued Clary.

Instructors for this high energy, hands-on, interactive workshop will help you understand the detailed criteria included in the BAM and then how to implement it using a case study of an actual business.  A thorough discussion of what the results mean in terms of allocating scarce incentive resources to business ventures, of preparing the business to obtain necessary capital and of mitigating areas of weakness will illustrate the value of the BAM to technical advisors and to business owners.

Your instructors, Quincy Ellis of Community and Capital Solutions and Dr. Greg Clary of Texas AgriLife Extension Service and TCRE, together have the academic background and over 65 years of experience working with companies at all stages of development.  They have worked with countless economic developers and business advisors as they provide technical assistance to business owners and managers.

The $129 registration fee includes refreshments and lunch, a BAM workbook, a trial use license for the BAM, limited future support and training, and access to success coaching.  Please refer to http://www.texasleadership.org for more information and for the form that will insure you receive announcements about TLI workshops.  Please follow the link to the TCRE store to register.

The Texas Center for Rural Entrepreneurship (TCRE) is a 501c3 non-profit corporation creating and growing businesses by connecting entrepreneurs and their communities with the capital, management and leadership resources they need to be successful.  The Texas Leadership Institute (TLI) is a program of the TCRE.
