Coastal Bend College Introduces Online Course: What’s New in Microsoft Office 2010 and Photoshop Elements 10 for the Digital Photographer II

Coastal Bend College has a program that makes it easy to take high-quality, noncredit online courses. Coastal Bend College has partnered with ed2go to offer hundreds of online, instructor-led courses and is pleased to announce the launch of two new courses: “What’s New in Microsoft Office 2010” and “Photoshop Elements 10 for the Digital Photographer II.”

Participants in the first course will explore all the new features of MS Office 2010 as they work with Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and Access databases. If they’re still using Office 2003 or 2007, they’ll learn how to transition smoothly to this newer version-and if they’re already using Office 2010, they’ll discover ways to work more quickly, efficiently, and confidently.

In the second course, photographers with a basic working knowledge of Adobe’s Photoshop Elements 10 will gain ability and confidence as they learn to use artistic filters, layering techniques, and advanced editing tools to create collages, turn images into text, and restore old photos like a pro.
These courses are part of Coastal Bend College’s growing catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online courses. Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with fellow students, participants in these courses gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. They have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. And they can access the classroom 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet connection.
New sessions of each course run every month. They last six weeks, with two new lessons being released weekly (for a total of 12). The courses are entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and assignments. A dedicated professional instructor facilitates every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.

Intermediate Photoshop CS5

If you’re already using the basic tools in Adobe Photoshop CS5, take your photo-editing skills to a new level! In this course, you’ll become an expert at using layers, layer masks, Smart Objects, and other advanced features that let you re-edit images easily long after you create them (and long after the Photoshop “undo” command expires). Once you see what non-destructive editing can do for your projects, you’ll never look back!
