The purpose of the ABE program is to provide instruction in adult basic education, adult secondary education and education in English proficiency. Adult basic education provides instruction in reading, writing, math and life skills. There are five areas of the GED. Students are given instruction in each area to help them successfully complete the GED exam and earn a high school equivalency diploma.

Classes are also available at the following locations: Ingleside High School, Room 44; Taft High School, Parent Education Room, 400 College St.; George West High School, Room 402 (Science Annex); and at 104 N. Sehorn St. (behind State Farm) in Sinton.

Students who enroll in ABE, GED/pre-GED and ESL classes in 2012 are required to be vaccinated for bacterial meningitis, in accordance with state law, with the last shot in the series being administered at least ten days prior to the start of classes.
