The study was done to analyze the investment effectiveness and economic growth of the region as a result of the college. The extensive study showed that CBC is a sound investment for students and taxpayers. The college enriches the lives of students and increases incomes. The enlarged economy and reduced need for social services are a benefit to taxpayers.

The state will avoid social services costs amounting to $1 million per year due to CBC students, including savings associated with improved health and reduced crime, welfare and unemployment.

The presentation is open to the public. Box lunches will be served to those who RSVP by Sept. 20 to Amberlee Johnson at (361) 354-2348 or johnsona@coastalbend.edu.
