Commercial driver’s license truck driver training offered

Coastal Bend College expands its CDL driver training program to all campuses. In addition to long- and short-haul commercial truck driving, the oil industry in South Texas is hiring qualified truck drivers, so now is the time to get the training. All campus programs have been approved for Workforce Investment Act Funding for eligible clients as funds are available. The cost of this CDL program is $4200 on any campus. This covers mandatory drug screening, DOT permit, physical and DVM reports.

This does not cover mandatory drug screening, DOT permit, physical and DVM reports.

The expansion is in response to the increased need for drivers in the region. “We teach drivers to think cognitively and be aware of surrounding and drive proactively, not reactively,” said Angela Saenz Ngo of Excel Driver Services.
