Students complete GEDs with commencement ceremony

A ceremony was held at Coastal Bend College in Beeville in celebration of students who completed requirements this year for the General Education Diploma.

A ceremony was held at Coastal Bend College in Beeville in celebration of students who completed requirements this year for the General Education Diploma.

Students who earned GEDs through the Adult Basic Education program at Coastal Bend College are Daniel Abrigo, Kelly Arzola, Nicole Boudreaux, Laura Bressler, Michelle Camacho, Ernest Cano, Jessica Cardenas, Jolene Estrada, Megan Henderson, Rebecca Hinojosa, Sheila Hull, Cristela Martinez, Felisha Martinez, Raquel Martinez, Sylvia Martinez, Sierra Molina, Martha Morgan, Erik Novak, Julissa Osio, Elodia Rodriguez and Matteau Wylie, all of Beeville; Myrna Cantu, Kristy Froman, Austin Samson, Lillian Sandoval and Angela Stennett, all of Ingleside; Christina Aguilar, Ashley Lowe and Sarah Muniz, all of Mathis; Adrian Aguilar and Christina DeLeon of Sinton; and Casey Meredith of Taft.

ABE, GED and Pre-GED classes are held in Beeville at CBC Lott-Canada Facility. Classes are also available in George West, Ingleside, Sinton and Taft. Students must attend an orientation session before the course begins and those under 18 years old have special restrictions.

English as a Second Language classes are held in Beeville for those interested in learning or strengthening basic English skills. ESL classes are free and are open to everyone. Students in the current classes hail from Mexico, Nigeria, China, Honduras and Columbia.
