Coastal Bend College Athletic Department will hold a basketball camp for boys, grades three to 12, on July 18-21, 1-5:30 p.m., at the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center in Beeville.
Coach Larry Mendez, head basketball coach, will serve as camp director. Mendez has over ten years of college coaching experience and recently led the Coastal Bend College Cougars to their best team record ever. Mendez’s coaching experiences include a 2008 national championship at South Plains College and a 2009 national championship at Howard College. He will be assisted by CBC coaches and basketball players.
This year’s focus will be on offensive and defensive fundamentals. Individual and team contests throughout the camp will help players of all levels gain skills and confidence. Camp exercises include individual instruction, scrimmage periods, basketball concepts, free throwing, shooting and ball handling.
The cost of camp is $50 per participant and includes camp insurance, awards, certificates, basketballs and t-shirts. Participants from the same family may be eligible for a discount.
