Leadership Bee County, Leadership Live Oak County and Leadership Refugio County participants will graduate on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 5:30 p.m. during a ceremony and alumni social to be held at Beeville Art Museum, 401 East Fannin St. in Beeville.

This graduation is the culmination of a year-long program that emphasized critical thinking and leadership in rural Texas communities. Participants took part in skills-building exercises, community service projects and field trips to local government, business and non-profit agencies to gain an inside perspective on leadership skills in action. Classes and seminars were taught by community professionals, many of whom are graduates of the program.

The overall goal of the leadership program is to develop leaders that will successfully identify and address critical issues that will bring about improved conditions in their communities.

2011 Leadership graduates are Lisa del Bosque, Scotty Draper, Belinda Flores, Yvette Hasette, Mark Joffrion, Tristen Martinez and Earl Rossett of Bee County; Kathy Likens of Live Oak County; and Sue Ellen Brown and Christina Mascarro of Refugio County.
