Barnhart Workshop Series: Mosaic Project
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 4 Medallion Awards recognized outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges in Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming during its annual convention held recently in Jackson Hole, Wyo. The regional competition is the only one of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.
Coastal Bend College earned a Gold Medallion Award for Electronic Viewbook (Adrian Jackson). Jason Collins of Beeville Bee-Picayune contributed to this project, a booklet of photographs taken during a weeklong mosaic tile workshop with CBC art students in Beeville. A copy of the viewbook is available on CBC News and Media Center, on the college website at http://www.coastalbend.edu.
A Silver Medallion Award for Promotional Campaign for a Special Event (Susan Smedley and Adrian Jackson) was awarded for publicity for Dia Del Mariachi,TM an annual UIL competition of Mariachi musicians and groups from middle and high schools across Texas. The event is held in Alice.
A Silver Medallion Award for Sports Brochures (Adrian Jackson) for the 2009 season volleyball media guide.
Smedley is CBC Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Jackson is CBC Public Relations Officer.
