The theme of Kids College 2010 is Once Upon a Time: Lessons from Fairy Tales. Youth six to 12 years old can sign up for Coastal Bend College’s annual summer day camp in Alice.
Kids College runs from July 19 to August 5, Mondays through Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All segments of Kids College are led by qualified and creative instructors and supervised by the Continuing Education Division.
Participants will learn the origins of ancient and popular fairy tales. This exploration of literature will include the language, geography, music, dress, imagery and imagination that fairy tales embody. During the August 5 finale, students will present their own fairy tales.
All day camp is $344 for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. sessions. The cost is $168 for morning sessions only (8 a.m.-1 p.m.) and $179 for afternoon sessions only (1-5 p.m.).
