The theme of Kids College 2010 is Once Upon a Time: Lessons from Fairy Tales. Youth six to 12 years old can sign up for Coastal Bend College’s annual summer day camp in Pleasanton.
Kids College runs from June 14 to July 1, Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All segments of Kids College are led by qualified and creative instructors and supervised by the Continuing Education Division.
Participants will learn the origins of ancient and popular fairy tales. This exploration of literature will include the language, geography, music, dress, imagery and imagination that fairy tales embody.
All day camp is $343 for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. sessions. The cost is $178 for morning sessions only (8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.); afternoon sessions only are $168 (1-5 p.m.). Those interested can opt for guitar only ($63), art only ($63) or science only ($63) sessions in the afternoon.
